Our services include:
Preventative Wellness Care
We provide preventative wellness care for companion animals which includes complete physical examinations annually or semi-annually, depending on the species. These examinations, in conjunction with vaccinations, parasite prevention, diagnostic screening tests, comprehensive dental examinations and cleanings, are the best way to keep your pets healthy, promote a long life, and detect medical problems early. |
Parasite Prevention
Living in Louisiana, pets are exposed to a number of easily prevented parasites that can cause life threatening illnesses. We offer quality preventatives for heart worms, fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms. We offer Proheart 12 ® which is an injection that will prevent heartworms and intestinal worms in dogs for 12 months! |
Dentistry
Dental health of your pet is extremely important! Dental disease is the number one condition affecting companion animals. It’s believed that over 75% of pets 3 years and older have some degree of dental disease, which can be painful and lead disease in other parts of their body. We strongly recommend brushing pet’s teeth. We offer routine preventative dental examinations, ultrasonic scaling of tarter and plaque, and polishing of teeth. We commonly perform therapeutic dentistry, including oral surgery to remove broken or diseased teeth and surgical procedures of the gums. |
Internal Medicine
We have the expertise, experience, and diagnostic equipment to diagnose and treat internal or metabolic conditions that your pet may develop. Conditions including diabetes, liver or kidney dysfunctions, thyroid disease, gastro-intestinal disorders, pancreatitis, cancer, and many more. |
Laboratory Testing
We provide complete in-house bloodwork, including complete blood count, organ function and screening tests, occult heartworm testing, feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus (F.I.V.) testing. We also provide in-house intestinal parasite screening, and cytologic testing of ears, skin, masses, and tumors. For advanced lab testing or environmental allergy testing, we use a referral laboratory which provides results typically in 3-5 days. |
CO2 Laser Surgery
Our CO2 Laser cuts tissue with a beam of light which seals nerve endings, blood vessels, and lymphatic vessels. This “no touch” delivery system cuts without touching which eliminates much of the tissue trauma associated with standard techniques. Laser surgery also allows for the surgeon to be more precise and helps speed up the recovery time for most procedures. |
General Anesthesia and Sedation
Each patient undergoing anesthesia has vital parameters monitored to ensure a successful outcome, these include pulse oximetry, ECG, temperature, and blood pressure. Sevoflurane, the safest gas inhalation anesthetic currently available, is the cornerstone of our general anesthesia protocol. Pre-anesthetic blood work is strongly recommended prior to any procedure requiring general anesthesia or sedation for the safety of your pet. We have other quality anesthetics and sedatives available, allowing us to tailor the regimen to fit the individual needs of your pet. |
Laser Pain Management/Cold Laser Therapy (K-LASER®)
We provide cold laser therapeutic treatment with a K-Laser® that is pain-free, non-invasive, and side-effect free. It improves and promotes healing, faster recovery time, increases joint flexibility, relieves joint pain and reduces spasms. When it comes to pain management for your pet, cold laser therapy creates optimal healing conditions and increases blood circulation to help get them back on their paws faster. |
Diagnostic Imaging
We have complete digital X-ray capabilities that allows for us to see detailed views of internal organs and allows for special procedures such as upper and lower gastro-intestinal barium studies. We are also equipped with ultrasound that allows us to take advanced and detailed images of internal organs, aiding in diagnosis and treatment of many different conditions. |
Boarding
We offer both short- and long-term boarding for cats and dogs. All pets that stay with us are pampered and kept as comfortable as possible while their families are away. We do require all pets boarding with us to be updated on vaccinations and parasite prevention in order to prevent the spread of contagious diseases. |
Cryosurgery
Cryosurgery allows us to treat specific abnormal skin conditions with less trauma and great outcomes. Cryosurgery can eliminate the need for anesthesia, sutures, and medication. Cryosurgery uses nitrous oxide to essentially freeze away warts, skin tags, small masses, cysts, eyelid tumors and many other lesions. |
